I just bought a 1980 300sd. I noticed it has a Racor water separator on it. Its an older one. A 200FG. Since I heat and use a centrifuge, and have a new primary and secondary filter(s) on it, I was wondering what 'micron' of a filter I should get? The separator itself has been discontinued, but the filters are still available. They come in 30, 10, and 2 micron. Please help. LOL
Thanks,
Kevin

The thinking is if u use a very fine filter as a pre-filter the engines lift pump is over worked by having to suck harder & may fail prematurely, therefore use a 10 or 20 micron.
