That sounds correct for the length of time. That's about how long the GP relays in mine stay on when the engine is cold. When the engine is warm it will kick off sooner.

I think it depends a bit on your system.
The Elsbett system starts the car on 100% veggie oil. Doing so, they keep the glow plugs hot until the engine reaches "running temp". I think my stock VW keeps the glow plugs on for about 30 seconds before starting, and I think they are turned off at the time the car is started, but I haven't confirmed. |
