Hi All
I'm building up some solar panels from 3" x6" silicon cells-36 off to make a panel. These should be 50-70 W max output
Q.Do any of you bother to remove flux residues from the front cell surface.(does the flux compromise performance)
Any thoughts appreciated

I assume you mean solder flux.

I would encourage cleaning it the best you can as most fluxes are acidic and you don't want to damage your cells, or the conductive grid on them.

Here in the USA, we have both water soluble fluxes and non water soluble fluxes. The water soluble fluxes might make cleanup easier.

Anyway,
I'd encourage posting your question on the BBS:

http://www.fieldlines.com/

There is often a lively discussion about do-it-yourself solar and wind energy.
