I haved just received all my BD processing equipment and will be assembling it soon to make my first batch. I have seen some plastic paletized containers with a metal frame around them for support that I think would be a good container for collecting the used fry oil. Does anyone know where I can purchase these at the best price?

I have a spare one but you can get them off ebay. Alternatively, Slatz may know a supplier in your area - PM him to find out.

They are called pallet tanks or IBC's.

I picked up some 275 gallon totes from a local honey business. $25 each. They only needed washing out (dried honey) to be ready for SVO and BD storage. The dried and filtered svo accumulates in the left tote, which also settles-out the heavy/high melting point fractions. The right tote accumulates biodiesel, settling for several weeks before moving the top layers to storage. It accumulates soap/glycerin residue in the bottom.

I got a 275 gallon container from the DOT of NYS for free. They use them for paint to paint road markings. It is latex and is harder to clean than honey, but the price is right!
