Fair enough, I'll step up for the mailing list. I made a soda bottle full of something that hopefully is close to Biodiesel. What should I name the group? Central VA Biodiesel? I will most likely compile a list of email addresses (from this thread) to invite to the list. They will get an invitation email and have to join themselves, but after that they should automatically receive emails. Feel free to post or email me (gregericksenATgmailDOTcom) with any suggestions.

Please visit:

http://groups.google.com/group/centralvirginiabiodiesel

and join this group if you are interested in being on a mailing list related to a Richmond area co-op/general info mailing list.

You shouldn't need a Google account to simply join and be on the mailing list, but once you do join, if you want to use the web interface to do things you will need a free Google account.

Thanks. I hope something worthwhile comes of this.

I too am interested in what transpires. I am in Petersburg and would be willing to do what I can to be involved in this idea going forward. I receive all post by email, so anytime there is a new post I get it immediately.

PS - I just joined the Google group.

I am located in Portsmouth and currently suppling two local friends and one out of state friend. I have two good sources and working on another. I would be interested in talking with others as I am constantly improving my process. I have a two tank heater system on my 7.3 ford. I got the kit from grease car and have over 4k miles on the original oil fuel filter on the truck. I collect good oil and run it though a centrifuge for hours @ 180degrees prior to it going into a 275 gallon storage tote. And then before it goes in my truck I have a 2 micron filter in line with the pump as a final filter in case anything happens to get into the storage tank.

Hi I'm from just outside Richmond Virginia and I'm trying to get started in making biodiesel to save money so I can put it towards school, but I'm having a hard time finding sodium hydroxide.
Does anyone sell or know who sells it around here?
