Hello,
I am fairly new so if anything I say sounds off, thats why. Anyways, while Ive been trying to figure out just the whole process of it all I have had a few questions. Say you have your methoxide tank, and your tank with your heated oil, is the methoxide added to the oil while it is still heated to the determined temperature? Also, after the chemicals and oil are added into the same tank how do most processors mix them thoroughly? I was thinking that maybe you would just leave the processor pump on and pump the contents out and back into the container over and over but I may be wrong. Any corrections or tips would be great!

You got it exactly. The heated oil remains at about 135 degrees for the duration of the mixing cycle to provide ideal conditions for the process to work. Pumping out of a bottom draw and just pumping back into the top of the processor is the common way to achieve circulation. Some stir the batch, just remember that you need to be fairly well sealed, as you will create some nasty vapors.

One word to the wise--set up your system so that the methoxide is introduced just in front of the circulation pump. The violent thrashing that the impeller in the pump provides mixes the two very well and gets the reaction started right there in the pump.
