What are you folks doing for a supply of sulfuric acid?
My normal chemical supplier sells it in stainless steel 30 gallon and 55 gallon drums.. $300 deposit on just the drum!!! LOL.. But I dont need even 30 gallons.. 2ml per Liter of oil and a gallon or two is all I need..

So, how do I avoid spending $600+ on a barrel of sulfuric acid? What are you guys using? Is there some consumer product that is 98% ??

Thanks,

I ended up getting a 240# (??) drum from Interstate Chemical. It is a lot, no doubt. I had a large quantity of clean, clear and water free oil available that titrated over 15. I could not find any other workable quantity at a decent price. I basically ended up with 12 or so gallons of lab quality Sulphuric for what I would have paid for 3 or 4 quarts from a laboratory supply.

Can you tell me who makes Hot Shot? Thought I had read in a previous post that it comes from Ace Hardware but my local store is unaware of that brand and I don't see it on the Ace Hardware website.

Thanks much,
Bill

its between 93 and 95%..good enough for acid processing. 98 would be better the cost is much higher and its harder to get.
