Will steel tanks hold up to a mild acid esterification?

We are contemplating using used propane tanks and doing an acid-base reaction.

-propane tanks, thats what I use. The old processor that was used daily for 4 years, was in perfect condition when I upsized the my current processor. I do AE on every batch. Tom

Thank you! That's exactly what I'm looking for - 2 - 500 or 750 gallon propane tanks. I was going to weld on a jacket (after someone else does the clean - out, as I don't want to go "boom") on each.

Thoughts?
