Mising Stage 1 AE oil with Low T Oil
Hi All,

Will this work?

I would like to have a smaller AE tank which I treat High T oil.

The output from the AE tank would be combined with other low Titration
oil and then processed in my larger base processor.

I cant think of a reason why this wouldnt work, however, I am inexperienced with AE
and would like everyone's opinion.

Thanks,
John

Sorting out the amount of caustic should be straight forward. Just mix all the oil together and perform a titration.
That should tell you how much caustic is required.

The methanol requirement is a little more complicated.
The oil that has been through the AE stage will already contain some methanol. The amount of remaining methanol will depend on whether you allow the AE stage to sit and then drain some.
The low titration oil will not contain methanol.

You will need to guestimate how much methanol is required for the reaction
