For those who are not into adding synthetics and dangerous chemical to their soap to get it to lather up well I have found that using organic sugar, which can be found at any WalMart or any grocery store (in Australia as turbinado sugar). Be a bit liberal with it, say a good heaping handful to a 4L batch. This works especially well with bar soap, but not so as well for liquid. In the liquid it does reduce the foam that forms on top after in settles though.
