I'd like to keep this post simple. No discussion, no long posts, but just a simple post with links to various soap making recipes here on the forum or elsewhere. Again, no conversation in this thread, just links to recipes. Hopefully, this can spur several threads that show different recipes to make soap. Here's the format I'd like to use. Type (ie. Liquid soap from KOH reacted Biodiesel, Bar soap from NaOH reacted Biodiesel, etc) Description Short sentence or two describing the type of recipe Posted Date Date post was created Link: The URL to the recipe. You can post multiple recipes in the same post, but please follow the format above. A recommendation for creating recipe style posts: First post should probably include the following: Give the recipe, some background behind why it works, and possibly pictures of the final product. Also, if possible, give a good idea of what soap yield might be from your recipe. (ie. Usually makes (25) 3" x 5" x 1" bars) The rest of the post can be for discussion. This message has been edited. I am interested in making BDG soap. Could someone please describe to me what SAP means? Thanks Jesse Karner | |||

It's a number that indicates the saponifiable content in glycerin. It's important because it impacts how much catalyst you'll use to make soap from the glycerin. Here's the instructions for how to identify SAP value in Biodiesel Glycerin: http://bdgsoaper.blogspot.com/...ap-test-knc-sap.html
