Has anyone tried the (so-called) fool proof method yet. I just ordered the sulfuric and phosphoric acid and hope to try it this weekend, I'm just looking for some feedback from someone with experience with this method, I would love to get rid of the titration hastle!
I highly suggest doing the titration. It only takes a few seconds each time. It greatly reduces the headaches. And almost anyone here on these boards will want to know the titration if you having problems. Collect the required items and just do it a couple of times.

Hi Ron, I've tried the foolproof method in small batches and it worked fine. I did notice tho that the concentrated sulphuric acid tends to 'burn' the oil, which in turn must weaken the strength of the acid. So you have to add the acid slowly as the oil is stirred. Conc sulphuric is nasty stuff by the way.
If you have poor quality oil the foolproof method is good, but otherwise I'd stick to titrating - its very easy. But, if you have good oil and still dont like titrating, try the 25% methanol and 6g/litre NaOH. It worked every time for me. You have to be careful not to create emulsion when washing (gentle stirring!) but if you use the 5% glycerol wash you reduce that risk.
Chris thanks for getting back to me. I've done the titration many times now. I just thought I would like to try the 2 process method involving sulfuric acid, but I would like to check with someone who has done this method before I try it.
