I was just wondering if it is ok to use peanut oil and do you calculate the batches the same as WVO. I haven't made my first batch yet still getting things together thanx Rick
I think it has a high gel point. I made some in the biopro and it was a big goop at around even as high as 45 degrees. Anything above 50 it was a clear looking liquid.

I wanna chime in on something. I started processing some peanut oil again. I did one batch last fall so my knowledge is limited on peanut oil. Well as some know that when doing the 3/27 test, "snow" forms. Well since it behaves strange compared to other oils, does the 3/27 test prove the same results. Is this snow detrimental? I have looked for answers and found none.
Has anyone run a GC on peanut bio and then test with 3/27 to confirm any correlation that the snow is meaningless. I do not see any dropout like tradition oils show the dropout. I guess I am passing the normal test. I run my batches just like I do when using standard soy and have no issues then. Always passing 3/27. I am baffled and would hate to quit processing the oil..
