When I first started I just dumped my methoxide on the top of my first three batches and had great results. After those sucessful batches I built a gravity feed drip style and have since found that slower adition of the methoxide produces a better bio in the end. At this point I too am mixing 40gal batches and allow the first 4gal of methoxide to drip in over 10 min then wait 10 min before the second 4gal drips in for the same 10min. This works great due to the fact I use a 5gal metal can to mix all of my methanol and lye. Afetr the last of the methoxide is done I let the pump run the batch from bottom to top for at least 1.5 hrs with heat (130deg)on and then shut off the pump and heat. I let it set at least 8hrs, most of the time 12-16hrs as the longer the wait the more glycerin drop out you will get and the faster the washing will be. As far as glycerin goes all mine is posted on Craigslist for free and people come and get it for soap, fertilixer, fuel, and many other things. Good luck.
