Randy,

There are at least three more of us that have not received a reply from Girlmark. We have purchased her book a month or more ago and have never received it. We have filed disputes with Paypal. I would suggest looking at some of the other books that are being offered.

Good luck,

Philip

You know, for someone who moderates this forum, you would think that girl mark would do better at providing the product that is for sale. I wish one of girl marks friends would step up and help out in this situation. It is really putting a bad spin on girl marks reputation.

I believe Mark is out of the country helping to build a system. I am sure she will respond when she can get Internet access.

Yes I also bought the book in Dec.07 and have yet to receive it. Seems like someone else could send them out for her?

Thanks for the replies everyone.I am very frustrated about this. I have sent her personal emails 2 times and have recieved nothing in return. I dont mean to be a newbie on here and complain but this is bs I dont think I will be looking for much help from girlmark in the future. I guess I need to file a complaint with paypal and try and get my money back.I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt but it has been almost 1.5 months enough is enough.

Thanks for listening to my rant, sorry

Randy

Randy,

I appreciate what you are saying.

I really think it would be better if GM clearly stated that shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks, or whatever it really is. Sometimes it is fast.

Or, get someone else to handle shipping them for her.

Not that it really changes things, but most of the info you need is on the Colaborative Biodiesel Tutorial .

And GM really has been and will continue to be a help to all of us, since she played a part in getting this forum and the CBT started. ( At least from what I gather. I don't know the whole story on that...)

I would send you mine but it was so full of wrong info I got mad and burned it !

It is not worth the money. Get your money back from paypal and buy Ricks book. From what I hear it is way more complete.

Mark played no part in getting this forum started.

Yes, this is a typical occurance and has been reported a number of times. One fellow waited 3 months.
Apparently Mark never replies to emails about the untimely delivery of her books.

Hello Andrew

I was not part of the CBT and do not know it's history.

I do know that this forum (The infopop Forum) was originally started mostly by Shaun. There was apparently an earlier forum that kept crashing so this one was started.
Apparently Tickell was to have a hand in it too because for a long time the moderators/owners were listed as Shaun and Tickell. In my time on the forum I do not recall seeing Tickell post to the forum, but he might have.
Shaun once left the owners part of the forum open by mistake and in it he was asking Tickell which part of the forum he wanted to moderate and where his share of the operating expenses were.
Soon after that Tickells name was removed from the forum.

Girl Mark was the principal organizer of the CBT. She's a believer in open-source collaborations. Her book is essentially taken directly from the CBT, in print form and organized to support her classes. So many people wanted copies that she started printing them for people who didn't take the class, and didn't want to use the online version.
Sad to say, she's completely burned-out, following an exhausting trip overseas, then a relapse of her Lyme's disease, according to her blog. She'll resurface in due time, when her health returns, but she's semi-officially announced her "retirement" from travelling to teach, wanting to pursue a normal life.

I would say the CBT appleseed design comes directly from her book. The design on the CBT is just the first appleseed design in her book. The CBT is an incomplete version of the appleseed design she shows in the book.

Her book showed an updated version with the optional PRV. She never shared that picture on the CBT.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I see I may have wasted the money spent on that book. I guess I just need to start looking on the net again, I just figured it would be nice to have all the info in one place. I just really hate when people screw you over, and yes she has done just that. I ordered the book back in november 07 and she wont return any of my many emails. I appreciate the links provided and will be looking into them. I did buy some plmbing fittins the other day and also bought a new but scratched 80 gal water heater at the same time for$200 from lowes. so I will be getting started on this very soon without the help of girlmark apparently.

Thanks for opening my eyes everyone

Randy

For who ever would like to know, Paypal got my money back for the book that I never recieved from girlmark. I thank them for that and I do hope that girlmarks health gets better so that she can do all those things she loves to do.

Same here. Paypal sent a message they were getting my money back. They were never able to contact girlmark either.

Several of us have been trying to contact girlmark to offer to help, but have not succeeded. I'm not giving up, and really want her customers get their books, but I only end up frustrated with her continued non-response. I'll keep trying, and if I can talk with her I'll see to it that any delinquent books get sent out, or some kind of appropriate response is made. I'm sure she finds it difficult/painful to work on her computer, write emails, etc (anything requiring keyboard entry and mouse work), but she's been able to overcome those difficulties enough to post some advertising on her blog. I can't feel sympathetic for her situation much longer, when her priorities aren't on people who've sent her money for her book. She's harming more than her own reputation.

For those folks who are desperate, I have two copies of her book (I bought them by the box to hand out to serious homebrewers). I'd happily send them to anyone who thinks they deserve them, and will deal with GM on my own for compensation. If you think you qualify, send me a PM.
Cheers,
JohnO
