Does anyone use an air compressor for bubbling, possibly by turning down the pressure regulator real low? Just curious don't wanna buy a aquarium pump if I can use what I already have.

That would probably work really good. I know you can get a CO2 bubble regulator for $30. That would allow you to control the flow down to 1 bubble per second (or something like that). I'm pretty sure you could get one bigger than that for cheaper.

Great idea.

Thanks,

Andrew

Yes, I used my compressor when I bubble washed. I made a bubbler from a 6 inch grinding wheel. Used a small reulator on the end of the 1/8 inch nylon line. Just plugged it into the quick connect on the hose and adjusted the pressure for a fine bubble stream. I no longer bubble wash, though. HTH Smile

I use the glycerine pre-wash. Greatly eases washing while reducing chances of emulsions. Slightly increases yeild as well. HTH Smile

Joe,
Do you have a link or something on the glycerin pre-wash? I can't seem to find anything on it.

Joe,
I found the glycerin prewash info, but my new question to you would be how do you wash after that if you don't bubble or mist? Or do you not do any post washing?

Sorry, BioMiles, I've been away from the computer for a while. I'm glad you could find the post. Thanks, for backing me up, Johno! Just remember that I have fairly light titrating oil, so it doesn't make a lot of soap to start with, so this method works very well for me. It may not work well with higher titrating oil. My last batch titrated at 5.7 (with a 5 gram base). HTH. Smile
