Why not wash WVO before processing? I would think this would reduce the amount of methanol and catalyst used, and maybe improve the final product.

Question:
Why not wash WVO before processing?

Choices:
Yes
No
Maybe

Of course, washing after processing would be needed also. I was think 1 or 2 wash cycles before, and then as many as needed again after.

In chemistry, there ia a principal called G.I.G.O. This means garbage in-garbage out. Simply put, the less non-reactable material in the reactor the less contaminated or cluttered the reaction will be. Cleaner ingredients, cleaner reaction. This may speed the reaction a little or make it more complete.
