My 05 Passsat TDI threw an "emissions workshop" message and the light orange engine light came on today while driving, at 59,990 miles. Checked the owner's manual and emissions check recommended. Any advice on this code? Is this a standard "checkup"? I run quality,washed and dried B100, over 20,000 miles with no problems yet. I don't know a repair shop close by that specializes in VW, but have heard there are several in the Asheville, NC area. Of course, I could head to a dealership in Spartanburg, SC. I live on the line between NC and SC. Appreciate any advice.

You should post the exact DTC code. Pxxxxx or similar.

You're coming up on a timing belt replacement.

Have yours checked when they do the timing belt.
