My husband and I posted a classified ad for our Rare 1982 Diesel Itasca Motorhome and we'd like to know what you think it's worth. It has not been converted. We really don't know the value of this vehicle. Can someone please take a look at the ad with the photos and tell us what you think it's worth. The ad is the only one that is a diesel motorhome without conversion. We'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Well, as you probably know by now, motorhomes are black holes for time and money. There are a lot of systems to maintain in a very harsh environment what with the weather and vibration. I watched a good portion of the videos linked to your ad. I have also seen your vehicle posted on CraigList for awhile. No offense intended, but I think you would be lucky to get $1500 for it, possibly only $1000. Leaks and subsquent water damage are usually what kills motorhomes, and to fix them correctly takes more than a tube of caulk. The repairs can be very expensive, and you don't know the extent of the damage until you really open it up. Carpenter ants are a sign that the water damage has been there awhile, not just recently.
I know that this was a great (and expensive) motorhome back in its day. It could be a decent motorhome again with a lot of time and money. But right now it just isn't worth much. The fact that it has a diesel engine is a plus for some people, but it doesn't cancel the other shortcomings.
Best of luck to you,
Chris

Hello and thank you for your response. We appreciate your honesty and we understand. However, to be honest, while we agree that the motorhome does need work, it is a very rare motorhome. In addition to it being a strong diesel engine that runs good and strong, all the appliances work and the generator is a propane generator, which is very important for an asthmatic like me. The overhead A/C blows cold. I can't stand gas fumes and to have to breathe that from a generator is horrible. Thank you for your response. We appreciate your honest feedback.
