Hey there!
I am about to do the same thing - but from the opposite side! I wish I had some suggestions, but right now I am focusing on trying to create a portable filtration system. If I get any bright ideas, I'll be sure to inform you! -Anja |

Drop me a line if you make it to Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. We should have some oil to spare.

My girlfriend and I are looking to do the same thing, starting in April 2009. In the interim, we're trying to come up with a good mobile filtration system. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks! |

Yeah, think hard how you plan on de-watering oil while on the road. Settling is impossible and filtering is your only choice. Unless the oil is CRYSTAL CLEAR chances are good it's wet. ______________________________________ '97 Ford F-350 7.3L PSD - Plant Drive kit '84 Mercedes Euro 300D NA - Custom two-tank Running on vegoil and biodiesel since May 2006 |

We've been using the Golden Fuel Systems Half shot filtration unit. It uses Racor aquabloc filters so it dewaters as it filters.
I'm setting up the auxiliary oil tanks in the back of the bus now and have two tanks set up so one will always be for clean, dewatered oil only and feed into the main heated tank up front. The other tank in back I'll use to hold oil that needs filtering and run it through the Racor while on the road. Both tanks will have heaters to aid filtration while we're parked and to help flow from back to front while in motion. |
