Looking for SVO/WVO or bio users in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

I'm trying to find information on conversions and local sources being used for WVO.

great.

what kind of setup are you using in the truck?

Hey guys,

I'm still deciding, but leaning towards a Vegistroke system in an F-250. Looking around for oil sources now, probably get the truck in the fall.

I would love to get a 200d or a 300d for a daily commute car, but haven't really looked for one yet. The truck is more important for me right now (could change at a moments notice, but...)

bro frank, I'll drop you a line.

Just moved to the area, haven't found a house yet but am probably looking at a 100 mi. daily commute in an '87 300D Turbo. I currently live in Norfolk but am looking in NC. I have been running a blend, 15% RUG 85% WVO. I need to find some local sources, preferably in the northeast NC area.

Hello Everyone

I just purchased a Mercedes 240D and I am new to this as well. I work in Suffolk and live in Norfolk.

This car has been running on a 10:1:.5 WVO:Kerosene:RUG ratio. In the winter I think I will run a 10:2:.5 WVO:kero:RUG. I understand it that the higher kero ratio allows for increased thinning of the WVO. I am just putting it out there and wondering if any one had any comments.

Also if anyone has any diagrams or instructions on making a preferred prefiltereing system I would surely appreciate it. I think most of my work will be involved in the prefiltering system so as to cut down cost on replacing filters often.

I have also been advised to change the fuel filter at the same time that you change the oil filter for happier driving.

Did you buy it from a Navy guy? If so, I was looking at that same car...but since I'm in FL, I couldn't get to it right away. Congrats on your buy.

I collect the oil and heat to dewater , then let it settle for 2-4 weeks. After settling, I pump into my "mixing" drum thru a 5 micron filter bag inside a 1 micron filter bag. Then I mix in what I want to blend, and go. You need to be careful blending as it gets colder, your area gets pretty cold and you don't want to try to go to work with a solid jelly in the gas tank because it got colder outside than you thought...if you PM me I will send you my WVO new person sources document (include your email address).

OKAY. so when can we have the first ever (and posibbly last ever) hampton roads greasy deisel meeting.

bring your deisel car, a deep fat fryer, tell some slippery tales, pour a litle oil, pass out hand books on how not to fall into a dumpster, or how to keep dogs from licking your fuel cap.

or we could just sit and talk about not buying gas any more.

any takers

Hey Bro Frank,

Like I said above, I don't have my deisel yet... am I still invited or do I have to wait until I'm "official"?

I am not sure if any of you are still around but I wanted to know if any progress had been made on a coop?

My friend and I are looking at setting one up at my place in Chesapeake. I drive to Williamsburg Each day and need to get this going.

I am willing to supply all the space we would need and have drums and a 300 gallon tote already. I have some oil but my source dried up. I may have a very good source but still need to follow it up.

Any interest?

Call me at 757-839-7439

I'll be getting my old F250 coverted to run WVO soon. Is there a coop up and running in the area? If not I'd be willing to help get one off the ground this winter.

I am seriuosly thinking about buy a vechicle (mercedes) and converting to WVO. I guess the question is " is it worth it", It seems to dangerous to put together something in my yard. Is there a co op in the area? I'm in Virginia Beach.

I just converted my 98 E300 and would be interested in a get together. I know one was discussed this past summer but I guess it never happened. I am in the Windsor/Smithfield/Zuni area. Where the heck is that you say? I'm west of Suffolk. I work on Hampton Blvd. in Norfolk. Right now I have sufficient oil, maybe a little extra. I collect from 4 restaurants. Two in Norfolk and Two in Windsor. I just started using a centrifuge to prep my oil. I just moved into this house in January so I don't know the area very well.
