I am still in search of oil in Central Wisconsin? If you know of a source I would greatly appreciate it.

I am looking to collect, but I would consider buying if the price was right. A co-op would be cool so we could share the work/benefits.

Thanks,
Glenn

Well the price is $1.50 per gallon in 35 lb jugs straight from the restaurants fryer. I also have brand new canola oil that is $2.60 per gallon in 35 lbs and totes, and hard oil that is $1.90 per gallon in 50 lb boxes.. pm or call 815 979 2583

So a 35 lb jug would be $6? Is that delivered or I have to come pick it up? Any volume discounts or bring my own container discounts?

Thanks,
Glenn

I haven't been able to get in touch with Brent yet, but this would be a tough deal for me to work. I would need to pay $1.50 a gallon and haul it at least 400 miles round trip. YIKES! I am still in search of anything closer to home, or a co-op, or leads on oil sources.

I am willing to travel for a good quality steady supplier, but I would like to not have to go 400 miles.

Well, I have found a local oil source but the volume is very low. I am still looking if anyone has any suggestions.

I too found a low volume source. I almost had a Hardee's (fast food chain) locked in. The night manager was all for it, but I couldn't convince the General Manager that it was a good idea. She just stated she was happy with the company they had doing it. She wouldn't accept a larger payment per gallon or anything.

Where is everyone that needs oil located?

The Central Wisconsin area, that is, about 200 miles north of the Illinois border on I-39. You had posted your prices previously in this thread. Given those prices, your location, and the current cost of diesel fuel, it doesn't make economic sense to purchase from you at this time. Have your prices changed or can you cut us a better deal somehow?

Thanks,
Glenn

I just wanted to give an update and state that I have been asking at least one place a week and finally found one willing to donate.

It was a restaurant that was recently re-opened by someone that was out of the restaurant business for some time. They were still under the assumption that they would need to pay to dispose of it, which is no longer the case for this area. I offered to collect and pay if needed, but they were happy with me stopping in to dine while I made my pick up.

This still doesn't get me up to my desired collection rate, so I will continue to contact businesses in my quest for oil.
