I am not familiar with magnesol, so I cant help you there. You should be able to find all the info you are asking about on this forum.

I had a tour of a plant that uses Magnesol and it is an absolute B*tch!
Very fine and powdery, gets in equipement, when wet forms clumbs that make cleaning equipment difficult. Also filtration problems. Explore Purolite, eco2pure or thermax.. I have a bag of purolite and a dry wash tower Im putting together at the moment. Done some shake tests with my purolite in my unwashed biodiesel just for a play and it goes chrystal clear. Also the gel beeds have very good wet flow properties which makes changing very easy. |

I made mine and use Thermax. I just started using it but after I heat it up to demeth I let it cool to 100F and then let it start running thru at 5 GPH. Here are pics of my new columns. Pink and all! The PVC holds woodchips which I showed a picture of as well. The steel column has the Thermax.

Bio Girl Z,
That Steel Tower looks pretty cool - what the heck is it... Where did you get the idea for it? GCG Causing a Regenerative Economy http://arborbiofuelscompany.com/ http://biodieselpictures.com/v...opic.php?p=1066#1066 |

What kind of wood chips are those???
They look like horse bedding... and would that work too??? |

I am not sure about horse bedding, but I know that the shavings that I get from horse manure are either cedar or pine. I would stay away from those.

The manufacturers of the resin recommend temperatures above 30 deg. Celsius but less than 70 deg. C.
However the graphs displayed often have testing temp. at 27 deg. Celsius. We believe you get better adsorbtion of glycerin down to a point. After which it doesn't flow well through the resin bed particularly with gel-type resins. Additionally the differential pressure is much higher at the 70 deg. F mark versus the 100 deg. or 110 deg. F. mark. GCG Causing a Regenerative Economy http://arborbiofuelscompany.com/ http://biodieselpictures.com/v...opic.php?p=1066#1066 |
