I have been brewing here in Boulder, CO for about 4 years and have utilized the bubble wash technique this whole time. Now it's time to step up to a higher quality wash technique. I am considering using either ecopure or perhaps wood chips from one of the local custom furniture shops. My question is there any benefit is using the ecopure product over wood chips (hard wood)? What do you need to do to the wood chips before you use them? How often should you replace, on average?
I used single stage transesterification process with a modified apple seed processor, 55 gal barrel in place of water heater, 35 gal batches. The oil I use typically titrates at 2-3.
My goal is to produce higher quality fuel while using much less water, eco and labor savings.
Thank you, Dana
