Methanol from prepping your chips??

Ok so I just put new oak shavings in my wash barrel and I tried prepping the shavings with methanol this time. My question is, is the methanol usable for production of biodiesel with the resin in it? If not, can you remove the resin? Will it settle out with the glycerin?

Yes, the methanol is useable. After prepping with methanol until it runs clear you will need to flush with finished biodiesel to get the residual methanol out. The methanol you keep for follow batches and the biodiesel you reprocess or simply incrementally add it to future batches.
