ok I am on my 3rd test batch... first 2 seemed to be total failures so I tossed them... 3rd batch started out ok.. but seems to be going downhill in the wash water..
1l of virgin oil 7 gr of KOH 200 ml of methenol blended in blender for 35 minutes settled for 12 hours first 3 wash's water came out a little cloudy but not bad.. white gunk keeps increasing with every wash... on the 4th wash the white gunk in the bottom if getting to the point of being chunky attached is a pic Picture_018.jpg (71 Kb, 69 downloads) |

that looks somewhat normal. Let that chunkiness/threadiness coalesce.
Bottle washes SUCK, by the way, in my opinion. I"ve been doing a lot of them during biodiesel classes lately and Im sick of how much water it takes and how easy it is to emulsify them. I;ve recently started bubblewashing bottle batches- bubble for a few minutes, then change water at first, then much longer after a couple of water changes.
