I've just made a processor using a 45 gallon drum. Unfortunately I couldn't find a drum with a removeable lid, so I cut the top off. Do I have to put a sealable lid back on? or can I use a plastic dustbin/heavy duty lid made from thick plastic?

Thanks

Hello Tibby123, I think it is vital to have a sealed but small 1/2" bsp vent pipe.Too many vapours for my liking. I have just made a twyn tub 100,using sealable steel 180litre drums from Why Waste 01353 663348,they are also on ebay perhaps under ex juice containers. They cost about£10 ea plus delivery, you could try them.

Hi tibby

my processor does not have a fully sealed lid, so I don't stand over it when it's running and make sure there is plenty of ventilation (garage door open) sealed and vented is safest though really

peace n grease
