Hi Mubs
most homebrew folks in the UK have moved onto the Graham Laming style of processor, see EcoSystem processor - needs no water, recovers methanol (GL 1 day system) on Graham's website here http://www.graham-laming.com/bd/main.htm It's based on a UK domestic H/W cylinder but I and others have used a 205 litre drum. You can make all your reactor and wash, dry tanks from 55 gal. drums using cone bottoms from Bay area biodiesel if your good with a mig welder . I had a welder do all of the welding on my drums (cones, legs, heating element threa-in) for $100. I couldn't see buying a bunch of hot water heaters . I've heard of people using a used water heater, but a good one is hard to find ,at least in my area. It depends on your back yard mechanic skills

I produce my biodiesel for approx 15p per litre all in.
There is no tax on personal biofuel production up to 2500 litres per year. See the other Licenses thread for info I posted on licenses. ************************* 1996 Transit Tipper 1991 Mercedes 709D 1994 Citroen ZX 1.9TD engine now in peugeot 306D ************************* http://www.biofuel-uk.net/ The Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial http://www.biodieselcommunity.org |
