I asked a few questions regarding production costs, duty etc.. The reply:

Hi there,

all it costs me is 27p a litre in duty (i`m a registered with customs) and time the operation is all above board correctly made biodiesel not just strained chip fat.

Thanks for question i will be raising price in future auctions (if held) i would just prefer regular custom from a few parties buying larger quantites and ebay is perfect for marketing

Many thanks

Hi,

Sounds like all the right answers.
We've ordered a batch just to try it out and will report what we find. Pity about the prospective price rise though.

Thanks to Lord Snooty for asking the right questions Smile

Cheers

how can all it costs him be the duty? Apart from carrige on 50kg he must buy methanol and caustic from somewhere. Use energy to make it.
And presumably pay rent on space if he is making any quantity???

60p per litre with free delivery eh, I don't know anyone that sells who does it for less than 70p per litre, and making it myself costs approx 40p per litre, I will be interested in further feedback on this.

I notice that 3 people have posted negative feedback for this seller/item....woops, almost tried some myself!

I also notice that one of the disappointed buyers has recently bought the secret recipe for a diesel fuel not involving veg oil from 'the-old-curiosity-shoppe'

Link to Ebay item

Has anyone splurged the 99p necessary to discover the secret - its not that I'm a tight Yorkshireman (which I am) just that I can't take the let-down.....

Wink

I think we discussed the secret in one of the Diesel Secret threads in the SVO forum. It's somethign like kerosene, an additive that gives it a dye similar to what you've got for duty purposes (I'm not familiar not being in the UK) and motor oil.

I thinke the (new) motor oil is the dye that makes it look about right.

Explains the empty drum with biodiesel written across it.

Quick £300 suprised she didn't advertise more than ten lots. Could as easily have been £3000

May be too early to be sure.

But does look like a straight rip off.
