Take a known volume of oil and suck or pump or whatever it into the processor. Shut off the pump, allow to come to equilibrium and mark a line.
Add another aliquot of the same volume, mark another line...etc., etc. Pretty soon you will see your lines are all about the same distance apart, at least toward the center of the scale. So you can figure the half volumes by marking half way between your marks. My site tube has 20L increments, so I can make 10L increments by dividing my marks in the middle, and 5L increments by taking the middle again, and estimate 2.5L increments by eyeballing half again. And I don't need to be any more accurate than +- 1.25L, and I doubt you do either. |
