Water heater elements are threaded for a one inch port.
Is this a trick question? HTH, troy |

Are you by chance talking about a double wall insulated vacuum tank used for keeping nitrogen liquid?

mtnsapo, it is a good idea if you have enough ports for whatever pipes you need. I was offered one but turned it down (150 gallons) because of the work needed to transform it. I wanted to make it into a reactor by didn't want to do the modifications to it. It meant taking it apart and then reinsulating it plus a bunch of SST welding, just easier for me to do that with a 55 gallon drum.

yeah, i have enough ports if i use an in line heater jsut before the intake port. it will take a little work, but once running will be far better then what i have now. i think i am losing a lot of meth through evaporation at the top of my current reator (not airtight, close but not 100%). i have a 55 gallon poly drun full of gly that i need to distill, and this tank would also be perfect for that purpose too. the only thing that concerns me is the small 1/4 inch ports that will raise the outflow pressure on the HF pump. i hope i don't burn it out. i will jsut have to build it and test it..
