This is a simple Reflux still I fabricated to aid in methanol recovery from my glycerin, and use for other distillery work as well. Works AWESOME with really low heat. NO, Im not distilling glycerol in the pic over a gas stove. Glycerol gets distilled with an electric hotplate, OUTSIDE.

Very nice! I assume the wide vertical column is the reflux portion? Is it packed with anything?

Thanks very much, and yes, the column is packed with two stainless steel scrubber pads, soon to be replaced with copper scrub pads.
