Getting that last few % of water.
Hi WesleyB,
Would you possibly know if the Hydranal Solvent used in the
titration vessel on a K F volumetric water determination
instrument is anhydrous methyl alcohol?
many thanks dave.

I found a place on the internet that mentioned 100-0.1 parts per million water in anhydrous methanol in connection with this KF Karl Fischer water content titration. Anhydrous ethanol was also mentioned. I'm not familiar with this test. A book I've got calls alcohol of 99.8% purity or higher, "extremely dry(or "super-dry") ethyl alcohol". If I understand correctly, in Texas the government wants tax money for an individual to make super dry ethanol from ethanol that taxes have already been paid on. I don't know about the laws in the United Kingdom. But there's no restriction on making super dry methanol.
