I am fairly new to meth recovery. Have a GL processor with plumber's delight condenser.

My question is how far do you push the methanol recovery. In my limited experience, the basic rules of thumb are:

1. Biodiesel sample is clear.
2. Soap drops out of the sample.
3. Methanol recovery rate reduces to less than 1 drop/second.

Is there any other way to determine when the recovery is complete? I'd be interested to hear what you do.

check the temperature limit of the pump?
NT pumps will loose the shaft seal around 200F. other pumps vary.
