If you use the GL 1 day process, recover all the methanol from the biodiesel. Then the contaminants will settle out leaving clean "washed" (or equivalent to washed) biodiesel.

When using KOH, you get liquid soaps so they don't settle out as well as Na soaps. If you had a tank to allow settling, would there be a buildup of soaps on the bottom of that tank as time went on? So could I use the same tank to settle biodiesel, then pump off the clean biodiesel above the settled layer? Would I eventually have a layer of only soaps where I could pump them off the bottom without mixing some biodiesel with it? (this is the same idea we do with glycerol when we originally started making biodiesel).

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Thanks GL! I did a search, but apparently not good enough as I didn't find this thread.
