I voted and now there are 2 votes for the Prius and none for any other vehicle.

Were you reading the tally wrong or are you merely a paranoid freak?

Guys...

Let's get back on subject.

Sorry about the spacing of the responses making them hard to read. I tried to go back in and put in "returns" between the lines, but it didn't let me.

I know 3rd party conversion kits have existed for the Prius for quite a while..
And, apparently Toyota has made a few "demo models" that they are currently testing.

However, I was asking about the FACTORY Model that will be available for sale at your local Toyota dealership.

I thought everything was saying 2010 earlier.
But, now I'm seeing notes that regular production and sales have been delayed until 2012.

And, they're expecting to only sell 20,000 to 30,000 in 2012. Better put your pre-order in NOW!!!

But, that seems to be the modus operandi for these new vehicles.

I voted for the Prius but not holding my breath. Two weeks ago I 'clunkered' my crappy Blazer on a VW Jetta TDI.

Am I seeing things...
Or is the new Volt evolving to look distinctively like a Prius?

And, the Honda Insight has also evolved to look distinctively like a Prius.

Prius plug-in conversions by dealers are available if you really want a Plug-in Prius right now. They're the closest to having a production model; it's up to them to decide when. The decision for when to offer the plug-in model is more a mater of market assessment than technology and production capability. They already have Prius production lines so adding the plug-in capability as an option is quite easy.

I think what you are seeing is a air cutting shape evolving for all high mileage vehicles.

Although they are all small cars, well I'm not sure about the Ford but the others are small but you could probably buy 4 Mahindra's for the price of the VW.

The Fiat 500 seems to have already won the race in Europe.
