A buddy tried a bottle of that Diesel Secret stuff, and it seems to work OK in his truck, so I asked him to give me the empty bottle. I filled the bottle with stove oil [kerosene] and followed the DS recipe procedure, including adding the contents of the DS bottle, and my truck runs good too.
By the same 'logic' that claims that the ingredients in the bottle are the 'secret' that makes it work, I've just proven that the 'magic' is the DS bottle not the contents. --.- ..- . ... - .. --- -. / .- ..- - .... --- .-. .. - -.-- '89 Toyota 3.4L TDI + FPHE BD+ULSD+VO+JetB blends |

If you go through the additional steps of settling and using filter bags, the DSE system will work in
diesels with indirect injection. I strongly advise against using it in direct injection vehicles until we have better data. The company refuses to share any information about actual use which makes them extremely suspect in my mind. You can buy their stuff, but they will not help you at all. |

Hello all,
Been some time since I have been here,, looks like there is confusion going on about thining veg oil for fuel.. Well Im now over 8000 gallons burned and ran for 2 years now. From Nov 1 2006 untill June 15th of 07 I ran everything on my farm at 100% veg oil fuel. The market price of oil seeds going up 2 fold in 6 months and the lack of a market for my extra sunflowr meal has me back to a blend for a fuel booster. My cattle can just eat so much of the meal, or they can OD! www.oilcrusher.5u.com On the last page of my web site,, I give a total overview of my testing, and feed back from some of the top fuel chemist in our country about whats going on with my system of running farm growen veg oil as fuel. Hello, my husband has been using Diesel Secret in his brand new/used 2006 Chevy silverado since he got in a few months ago and he only drives it on the weekends. First off he had the clogged filter issue and the pump broke so he bought a better pump and didn't bother getting one from DS. Then had to upgrade all the clogged filters. Next, after a trip over the mountains he couldn't accelerate so figured out the fuel maybe got too cold and that slowed it up so added more regular diesel at the gas station so we could make it home. Well, my husband is a fanantic about making sure the oil he gets is clean and filtered and follows the directions to a T. Last night we had to take it to the shop because he can barely drive it and I don't know what it is but I think it is the DS. The air filter had fallen off in the midst of all this and he still hopes that is the problem. I am less inclined to be positive and we both could not sleep last night with worry because this truck was expensive and the nicest one he has ever had. I am sorry I can't talk "truck" as I am not the one doing all the work but just found this site while trying to find out after the fact, whether DS is a bad product and a scam. I will post later when the shop contacts my husband. I am sick to my stomach about this and I know my husband is too!

Hello everyone. just got my first diesel. it is a 96 passat tdi. besides having to replace the turbo after 2000 miles, everything is good. I am very interested in using alternative fuel, and am very glad to read your posts about DSE. I just started researching biodiesel, and was wondering what would be the cheapest and safest way to fuel my tdi. Would these methods that work for diesels also work for my boiler that runs off home heating oil? I am now paying 3.20 a gallon for home heating oil. thanks in advance for your help.

I have 223,000 on my 01 dodge cummins. The DSE formula does work, but you do have to let the wvo settle for some time and do not pull from the bottom of the barrel or your filters will clog up quickly. I have found that all the DSE stuff does is to keep every thing in suspension. Put your blend into a glass fruit jar and over time(a month or so the blend can settle out) With DSE it does not. I am guessing that the XYLENE and DIESEL KLEEN probably will do the same thing> I don't mix a large enough batch at a time for it to last that long. The big industrial filter bag system from -FRYER-TO-FUEL.com has solved my filtering problems when using the .05 micron bags after my WVO has settled. This is then pumped thru the .05 filter into the 2nd. 55 gal drum where the DSE blend formula is put together. I use 10% JP4 jet fuel(#1 grade kerosene) which I buy cheaper than # 2 grade farm grade kerosene. Go figure. In below freezing 30 degrees or below I double the JP4. I stay with the 5% unleaded regular. I think the DIESEL KLEEN is a good product. The DSE bottled stuff is probable not needed at all unless the mix sets for a long time. In any case a little biocide is good insurance no matter what method or formula you use. After I have mixed I then pump out of the (MIXED) barrel thru another .05 micron spin on industrial filter into my cummins with NO problems. I think most all the DSE issues come from not letting the WVO settle, not straining to start with before dumping it ito the first barrel and not using adequate filtration. I have a close friend that puts 40,000 plus on his cummins and was using the wash method and dumping the glycerin. His exahst did smell better than the blend method but he had nowhere near the power I had. He has converted (about a year ago)to the mix method and has noticeably improved power and mileage. We figure our cost now at about 60 cents per gal. eight months a year and about eighty five cents in the cold months. By the way, I do also use a drum heater to help the water and trash to settle a little quicker in the settling drum. Hope this helps some one a little bit.

I've got a 20 year old Komatsu 420Hp diesel engine that would probably burn ice cream if I put it in there. I live in Okinawa where they charge the same price for biofuels as they do for regular fuels, and really need to find an alternative. Currently, I am spending more than $1,000 per week on fuel. A good alternative that is simple and easy would be a God-send. I plan to try DSE and see how it works, but I am open to other suggestions as well.

DIY-DSE mix
** As reported elsewhere, DSE works just as well if you keep the bottle and keep refilling it with half & half kerosene and regular gas. The magic is in the bottle. Make sure you filter the VO to 5µ and test for water with the Hot Pan Test before you add the mix in the DSE bottle. Some also like to add a couple of oz of acetone and pure gum turpentine. So the DIY-DSE mix is 50-50 RUG & kero + 2 oz acetone + 2 oz turpentine. But you have to mix it in the DSE bottle for it to work right every time. --.- ..- . ... - .. --- -. / .- ..- - .... --- .-. .. - -.-- '89 Toyota 3.4L TDI + FPHE BD+ULSD+VO+JetB blends |

Does the magic cra...errr, stuff come in different size bottles? I'm wondering if you used a bigger bottle if there would be even more magic that went into the mix so it worked even better! I wouldn't pay for a large new bottle though. I hear the magic in allthe new bottles is mainly the amount of money that appears in the scamme...Sellers bank account but the fuel making magic stays in the bottle....Forever!! **** * 1978 Merc 300D. To the moderator of this post:
Could you please delete all the posts that are not about Diesel Secret Peddlers? The title of this post is "facts about the Diesel Secret Peddlers" so lets all stick to the topic. I have been a member for a while and find most topics entertaining and enlightening, but I hate it when topics like this get crammed up with banter. Please lets all post our results or fears of using this Cr*p and help those that do not know and are searching for answers. I now that it might be possible to discover a proponent of DSE, but isn't it fair to include them as well, I mean this is a topic about DSE after all. IF you do not want to have this discussion then delete it. I want to go on record as someone that would not put this stuff in an enemies tank. Why go through all the agrivation of "trying" to get it to work when Biodiesel is proven and is safe. I for one have been able to get my 02 chevy silverado (the most fineky vehicle on the market for Biodiesel) to run on B70 (that is Biodiesel and PetroDiesel blend) down to -9 degrees. I will admit that I was lacking a lot of power that morning and I had a little help getting it started with a warm jug of B100, but the issues went away on the drive home (over 30 degrees). I have been running Biodiesel for over 2 years now and even started a group in the S.NH area about the same time. I can go on, but I would rather stay on topic. I will save the other stuff for a different topic. Thank you for your time. I hope this was in some way helpful. Amazing how something so simple can be so easily overlooked. |

I tried DSE Additive, i know there is a lot of discussion out there about this product and i want school everybody on this product right now! I bought this product and made a drum of this fuel up as directed by the book that they sale, my truck ran fine the first couple of days and then the third day me and the wife got in my truck (on mothers day) made it one mile and my truck died, pulled the filter out and it was clogged solid with thick WVO, it took me a full day of heating the tank with a drum heater before it would run i then pumped every bit of that garbage out of my tank and filled up with regular diesel. Attention people thinking about buying product!!!!!!!!! Save your money and spare yourself the headache. I tried contacting DSE (Diesel Secret Energy) and nobody will call me back, now i have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge.
Everyone steer clear of this junk and this shady company. Phillip |
