Because I've been involved with Biodiesel for so long I've made some incredible contacts over the years.
One of them was a guy named Tim Waterfield in Colorado (Pagosa Springs to be exact). He started up a company called Planet Biodiesel that was really similar to mine. He was one of the first Fuelmeister dealers they ever had & while he did that gig for a while, soon dumped them for other things (he was one of the first BioPro dealers). Anyway, like so many incredible people in Biodiesel, he had an incredible heart and willingness to want to "make a difference" in the world using the knowledge he'd learned about biodiesel (some of which came from folks around here a couple years ago). A lot of us claim we want to do it, but not all that many really "put our money where our mouth is" and ante up & do something about it. Tim did & tonight I just heard from him (it'd been a long, long time). If any of you ever followed the "fuelmeister" threads you may have heard me refer to him. Anyway, seems he left his successful business in Colorado (he really was giving me a run for my money too...just a great guy!) and went to Cambodia to make a difference. I just heard back from him & it turns out he's really doing what he set out to do over there; which is try to help the native people there improve their lives. Primarily through teaching them how to improve their lives themselves by making their own fuel, and in this case Biodiesel. I guess since getting over there he's used Biodiesel as an educational tool to teach folks how they can truly become self-sufficient and because of it it's enabled him to help out a ton of people. They've set up a school & everything & now offer tours. Anyway, it isn't often that I mention stuff like this, but I just was really impressed with what he's done & wanted to share another "Biodiesel success story" with those around here. It's just awesome to watch people take something like Biodiesel and use it to improve the better good for people. If you want to see what he's up to (some of you may remember him from a while back), check out what they're doing here. http://www.planetbiodiesel.org Particularly this section: http://planetbiodiesel.org/boidiesel-basic.html It's because of projects like his & others out there that I've loved being involved with Biodiesel. It truly is a great opportunity to use it to help others & in this case, this guy really did take the knowledge that he'd learned & put it to good use. Anyway, just wanted to send an "Atta-boy" to my old friend Tim Waterfield & let the rest of you know about some of the cool stuff that goes on "behind the scenes" with Biodiesel. Every now & then this thing we call Biodiesel really does give us a chance to improve peoples lives for the better. Very very cool! -Graydon
