Hello All,
I am just starting to get into my bio-diesel research. I have an '06 F250

Is it bad to alternate fill-ups with biodiesel, and regular diesel? Once you make the bio-switch, is it better to stick with only one kind oil based diesel?

Or does experimenting and variation get taken care by the fuel filter. What other components may be affected?

Thanks

You may get a clogged filter or two but you should not need to change any components. I have heard that Ford filters are both expensive and hard to change so make sure you know how to do the change as they always seem to clog at very wrong times. Best look for a cheaper supply of filters and be prepaired to kiss the motor warrenty good bye if the dealer wants to make a fuss.

What Raften said, plus;

Switch back and forth at will. The mere act of switching between petro diesel and biodiesel should cause no problems.

Switching is good because it helps keep things cleaner on the inside of your tank and injector pump.

Ratski,

I don't think switching back and forth keeps things cleaner.

But, there is no problems switching back and forth other than that horrible horrible feeling you get in your gut when you hand over $150 for a fillup on dinofuel after you filled your tank at home for about $40.

I've also noticed that my truck runs alot quieter on bio. ...very very noticeable difference.

Good Luck
