Chris Powers at Houston Biodiesel (www.houstonbiodiesel.com) takes it for a very nominal fee and has it properly recycled. I know he's inconvenient for you, but you might call and ask if he knows someone in Dallas that will take it.
I've also heard of guys dumpstering it in commercial renderer collection tanks, as they are able to process it and sort it out. Me, I save mine and experiment (with varying degrees of success) with soapmaking! Cheers, John |

Dittos what John said. Soap making is a good way to use some of it.
We recently had a lot of rain here in Atlanta. I had a lot of debris flood into my yard and decided to burn it instead of dragging it to the street for the County to throw in the landfill. I burned about 20 gallons of excess sludge and glycerin byproduct while burning the debris. It took a couple of days to burn it all, but the end result is I have a lot of nutrients for my garden next Spring. You could also experiment with cracking the glycerin byproduct and use the FFA'S released in future batches of BD. This would decrease the amount of byproduct substantially and give you a higher oil to fuel ratio. |
