This last week I took the family to Disneyland for our vacation.

While there I was riding on the train and smelled something that...well...smelled oddly familiar, but I couldn't quite place it.

After about a day of smelling the smell near the train I finally placed it. Biodiesel!!
Someone had told me once that Disneyland runs their steam engine on Biodiesel Well, I smelled it while I rode that wonderful old steam train and it smelled great!

Ah.....the smell of burning Bio in the morning. LOL!!!
Even when I go on vacation, somehow this Bio stuff still finds me. Gotta love it.

...and yes, the kids LOVED Disneyland.

When I get all the pictures pulled off the camera (all 375 of them), I'll upload a picture I took of the train. It's kind of crappy since it was at night, but still, it's a picture none-the-less.

Gotta love a train that runs on Bio! It made my day when I figured out the smell!

Looks like they even won an award for it...

Oh wow! The steamboat uses it too! I THOUGHT that smelled familiar when I rode it!
Now all it needs is one of those big Powered By Biodiesel decals slapped on the rear of it! LOL!

The tram's they use to go back & forth between the park & parking are powered by Natural Gas too. Way to go Disney!

Had a similar thing with the family the other week at Paignton Zoo in Devon. We were crossing over a bridge in the park, when the park train passed by underneath-I thought I know that smell-I am sure the train was running on bio.The Zoo is very big on enviromental issues,so it could be true, but there is no information as such to confirm.
As you say Graydon,Its the way to go,and it looks like it is catching on all be it in a small way.

Here's my lame picture of the train...

Toot! Toot!

I can't believe I didn't shoot a better picture of it while I was there, but the smell it emitted was a sweet one to this Biodieseler.....

I guess they initially bought the Bio but then switched over to using their own oil to make it with.
