Matt,
It's a really cool conference. We try to get as many cool speakers as we can to talk about issues that home brewers, coops, and small producers would be interested in. It's not like the NBB conference where all the talks are by vendors trying to sell you something either. It's a much nicer event as far as that goes. You won't see booths either where people are trying to cram stuff down your throat to buy either (there WILL NOT be a Utah Biodiesel Supply booth there...now if you come up & ASK me about something, sure, I'll tell you but I'm not there to sell stuff..this is the fun conference for me). Anyway, lots & lots of fun topics & speakers. You can look at presentations from two years ago here: http://www.collectivebiodiesel.org/presentations/ Here's the list from last year: http://www.collectivebiodiesel.org/presentations/index07.php It's just a ton of fun too & we try to keep it casual and as informative as we can. Hope to see you there! Joe_M, I'd LOVE to see you there & finally have a chance to meet our own "GM Guy" in person.... -Graydon

I'm in the same boat with Kumar. I sure wish I could go but finding the time for me is just not possible when fuel prices are hitting new highs every other day.
The only reason Graydon is going is because he has a back-up to take care of things while he is absent. |

Yeah I am in the same boat.
I know it is a pain, but I do have a suggestion. It would make it easier to plan and attendance would increase if the planning was done 3-4 months ahead of time. The meeting that I am attending for work in December is already planned to the degree that I could already have my flight and hotel reservations done if I wanted. I realize that not all the details can be worked out. But it does make a big difference on attendance if you give someone one month to plan or 3-4 months to plan. I am not trying to be negative as I would really like to attend, there just wasn't enough time to plan for it. DD |

We actually announce the date when it will be quite a bit before the conference (we announced this date clear back in the winter).
However, nailing down the speakers & planning the conference itself is quite a chore as we don't really have anyone doing it full-time (to keep the price down). Yeah, I know, we can't get it all done as fast as people would like, but we did announce the date quite a few months ago. Getting all the speakers & topics nailed down takes the lion share of the time though... But, if you do plan on coming, it's gonna be a great one... -Graydon

The conference was great!
You can see the pictures here. http://www.collectivebiodiesel.org/photos/2008conference/ I must be getting old...I don't take near the pictures I used to. Here's the speakers list... http://www.collectivebiodiesel.org/speakers/index08.php The presentations will be available as soon as they're uploaded & I have a chance to generate the links to them. All the talks were also video's this year and they're deciding on how to post those...it may just initially be a DVD, but not sure at this point. The conference was great though! -Graydon
