I always use mine within 15 minutes of mixing.
Don't let it sit around if you don't have to. I haven't heard any stories of anyone trying day old, or week old methoxide, but if you do, let us know. |

I use a converted stainless steel beer keg and have had methoxide in there for over a week with no problems
The key is to keep it sealed to keep water vapor from getting in there. Illegitimi Non Carborundum |

Sounds kinda heavy on the NaOH. What does your oil typically titrate?

Maybe I didn't explain well enough.
100gr NaOH per liter Methanol is just concentrated stock. WhenI have to use it, I titrate the usual way (BTW , my oil usually titrates at 1.7 * 1.15 + 5 gr base, which adds to 7gr NaOH per liter) so for a batch of 150 liter, I will need 1050 gr, so I will take 10.5 liter from the stock and add the rest from the methanol. |
