Hey, Steve here, well I guess I am a mechanic...I don't actually know right now. I worked in the paper industry for 8 years, finally realized that swing shift work was not working for me and my family. I have been married nearly 5 years, have a 3 year old son. I don't actually have any mechanic type certification, I am actually trained in auto resotration, the good stuff, not just fender benders on plastic cars. I attended McPherson College, the same one Jay Leno gives a load of money to. I am a CAR NUT. I have had a subscribtion to most major magazinzes since 10 years old, and still have them stacked up to prove it! I have been a diesel nut since I bought my 71 suburban with a 6.2 transplant, hence my user name. I have since groped every bit of diesel knowledge I can touch. I am here to learn, and hopefully help.
Bring me an Old Milwakee Special Reserve Light, yes it does exist, and it is also the cheap stuff, but I like it!

You can call me Steve

Too cheap to buy at the bar, I snuck in a flask of home-made hard apple cider. Come January, some of that will be jacked. I will order a pulled pork sandwich on sourdough.

I'll buy Mark another beer, or six. She clearly needs it/them.

Thank the Lord for secondary containment!

Mark, you need to find that happy medium between Super-biodiesel-Girl accomplishes everyting all-at-once, and sitting around meditating all day on a hilltop or watching soap operas all day. We don't want you to end up being the Janis Joplin of the biodiesel world, who meets an untimely end. You're too valuable for that.

Hello have my boy with me can't stay long. Wish I could have an old time Walters, but with take a Dew. Have to take the little one with me today (collecting day).

I new in the neighborhood. Been hanging around for a year, just decided to ask question or two and put in my 1.5 cents worth (will be $.02 when get over the learning curve a little more)

I love building my own structures. But mostly have to settle for building others. I do the big buildings, concrete, steel, metal studs drywall, and lots of silicon caulking.

Love to sail on the only BIG Lake. Lake Superior. When giving the opportunity, haven't had much of that lately. Grew up two miles from the South Shore.

Did Some technical writing for awhile after UW-Stout. No fun really sitting behind a desk for 8 to 10 hrs a day. So now I in Local 1074.

Oopps gotta go someone wants to go on PBSKids.org before I strap him into his seat in the truck.

..... UBC ..... hammers, square, chisel, and 25lb bags!
'86 f-250 with 169K miles! SWEET Smile
Soon to be WVO. and Co-op'd BD for heating house. Best use of Quantity and $$$

Hey BIG MIKE,

Sounds like my kind of place. Especially when the wild-eyed women aren't afraid to go there. Hi Girl. Just set up something cool, doesn't have to be cold-cold, whatever's handy. It can curl the nose hairs and/or straighten the neck hairs or go down real smooth. What all's on that grill? I'll eat anything that doesn't eat me first. Some things came close.

I seem to have done bits and pieces of what a lot of you have done. Enough to sound intelligent for about a minute and a half.

Better get back at it. Though with an eight day week and a five day weekend all with a 30 hour day should be no problem getting it all done before I rest.

Later.

A Mercedes Benz
I brew lots of Bio
For me and all my friends
I’ll teach you the process
But all that depends
On Lord, if you’ll buy me
A Mercedes Benz

Oh Lord won’t you buy me
A colored SUV
One that burns bio
Is best suited for me
Will wait for delivery
As long as it’s free
Oh Lord won’t you buy me
A colored SUV

Oh Lord won’t you buy me
A night on the town
All these bio classes
Have sure got me down
Prove that you love me
Buy Girl Mark the next round
Oh Lord won’t you buy me
A night on the town…

Hi, found this bar coming down the road...
Seems to be a nice place to stay longer....
First, let me have a double 15 years old Bushmills single malt whiskey, but please, no ice !

Heard this song, some posts ago, sounds like the bartender should grab out his guitar and his fender to make it sound louder....

I love to hear good old fashioned music!

So I came down the road, some years ago, starting my first business when I went to school, which was a rolling disco in the late 70`,
learned to repair all that electronic stuff like
radio & TV sets, then went over to study biology for some years.
Nice time, but no chance for a job after....
Spent the next 15 years building computer networks for the business here in germany, then
changed attention to the process automation industrie.

Oh boys, lot of things to learn and the road is not at its end....

Love to hear good music, flyfishing in Ireland in my sparetime, drinking good whiskey and playing with all my gadgets, collected through out the years.
From time to time I fire up my short wave transceiver to talk to some guys allover the world.

Came to the Biodiesel obsession 2 years ago, why ?.... I think because of the "Bio..." in it...

OK lets have some fun in here, and whats about the music box....

before I leave, ... one for the road please.

Oh yeah...I love it up there. Have tried to make it a habit of camping and hiking at Temperance River State Park on the North Shore in early fall every other year...but had to skip it this year with the wife due in Dec. We took our daughter when she was just 1yr old...those back county trails, streams, and waterfalls are just that much better with an infant strapped to your back.

And I did the construction gig for a while too. Laborers Local 1440 on and off for 6yrs while getting a degree and waiting for my wife to finish hers (b4 she was the wife Smile)

Quickly realized there is almost no such thing as an old Laborer (your body just can't take it long term)...and went back for a second degree and now work as an engineer at a medical device company . Love it.

Hey is this place open for lunch?

Who is that lady over there snoozing in the booth? Send her a plate of sushi with a lot of wasabe on the side and a large Sapporo. That should get her up and going again.

Sure glad I found this place! 'Bought got lost coming over the Bridge of Sighs, then I got caught up in some Crosstown Traffic. And you know I Can't Drive 55.

I am hungry. How about a slab of those ought to be prize winning ribs? It was the smell of those ribs that brought me out of the Purple Haze to this place.

Nice place, btw.

What's that? What do I do for a living? I guess that is all in how you define living.

I've got some letters after my name that add up to a lot, or not, depending on who you talk to. Most lawyers would say it don't add up to much at all. Graydon turned me on to this place I might find a job.

Hobbies?
Yes, I have some. Or should I say some have me...

Used to brew beer but I had to liquidate.
Hunt when I'm hungry and fro critter control.
Had a motorcycle shop once. Just did British stuff. Got tired of working on everyone else's stuff and not riding mine.
Cars? Yes, I have had a few. Got into Jaguars and dropped the bikes. Still have two. Can't seem to part with the XJS and its 12 cylinder soul. But now I really want a diesel and Jag isn't importing any here so my love affair there is waning.
Forestry is my real passion. Probably because my dad got me into scouting at an early age. Made Eagle. Now I manage my own little 100 acre forest. Got a sawmill and kiln and a bunch of other woodworking equipment that I play with when I find the time.
Used to have a sailboat but discovered I would rather be in the forest.
I see you have someone picking up your oil. That's good.
Why am I driving that F350 and not the one of the Jags?
Well that's because the F350 is a 6.0 Powerstroke and it loves the fuel I make.
Sure, I make bio diesel. Actually, just ordered this neat new machine to make it with so I have more time to spend with my trees. I'll tell you more about that when it arrives next week.

Could I have a Saphire martini to go with those ribs? Up, very dry with an olive. Thanks.

Did I mention you have a nice place here. Now that I know where it is, I will be back. Like the tunes too.

Hi, Murphy.

I haven't pulled a bowstring for some time so I won't be hunting in October. But come November I will be. I usually have my deer skinned and hung by noon on opening day. Smile

What are you hunting?

Do you think this drought is going to affect things?

Want another beer?

With CWD in S-WI these days, my part of the state has a gun season either Oct 13-21 or Oct 18-21, depending on your exact management unit. Then the regular gun season is Nov 17-Dec 9.

Of course, bow has already started and runs Sep 15-Jan 6.

And it's ALL Unlimited Earn-A-Buck...you can shoot as many deer as you want, as long as you shoot a doe before you shoot a buck....then another doe, then another buck, etc, etc.

The WI-DNR really wants to kill some deer...they say the population is too high too high! I think they are full of it! I see less deer in the fields feeding than I ever have in recent memory and less deer hit on the roads. Whatever means the DNR uses to estimate deer numbers is flawed.

Last year, they abandoned the EAB due to hunter complaining, and I'm darn glad they did, this guy was the first deer I saw, on Sunday morning of opening weekend! (and you can scroll through for more pictures on that site, if you want!).

Thanks, but I don't want a Mercedes-Benz, unless it's just the engine part, in a Sprinter van. Can you re-write that song to say something about a Sprinter?

ps I read this thread while sitting in a cafe with another biodiesel-obsessed brewer, and I actually laughed so hard that I had to get up and go hide in the bathroom and compose myself- looked pretty funny laughing so hard with tears of ... embarrassment? at the same time.

Incidentally, does this place serve good coffee?

Wait a minnit, isn't CWD something that can possibly transmit to humans or am I thinking of something else mad-cow-related?
