If your Bio is clean, pour it in the tank and off you go. No need to up the percentage slowly, my '97 Cummins loves the stuff. Just be prepared to change the filter, all else should be OK. JohnF |

I had a 96 12v, I dumped in 50/50 with no problems. Just remember you will need to change the filter often, If bio has never been run and there is high miles, you might want to be safe and start out at 20%

Thanks all - I've run the first bit through with no issues. That was maybe B50 or so. I have a batch finishing right now, so by this weekend I should be up higher then B50 - we'll see what kind of tank cleaning that does! The truck seems to like it - I notice no difference.

The short fuel connection hoses under hood will soften and fail in time...plan to replace at leisure or roadside.

Do you mean the return line? It's about 4-5" of rubber hose? If so I just had that replaced when I bought the truck. Any other ones to look out for?
Thanks Vermont Home Brewer (learning) |

Liamfm,
The only hose l've replaced in 50k miles on b100 with my 97 12v was the return line. Had the local cummins guru crank up the injector pump also. It's a fun truck to drive. |

Definitely my return-line failed, prolly 'cause it sees the hottest biodiesel going through it, but all the short fuel hoses in this path were, by then, soft to the point of it not being possible to work on them without getting my hands gooey. They're not hard to replace - just be sure to use the right type of replacement hose...USCG type A, I think it is, for "alcohol" rated.
