The DR Pepper is only to provide an empty bottle. HDPE (High Density Poly Ethelyne (Spelling?)) bottle will work. I have also done it in glass bottles.

HEET is a gas line anti-freeze and water remover for gasoline and/or diesel engines. Read the back of the label. You are looking for methanol, not ethanol or ISO alcohol.

How cold does it get down there in the winter? You guys are coming up on fall right now, right? If it is cold enough to be a problem then it should start hitting the shelves soon. Check the automotive section.

The little bottles are good for running some tests and learning how to make the fuel, but are not economical for 150+ liter batches.

You will need to find methanol from another source in the long run. Race tracks and chemical supply companies are a good place to look.
