I need one of the following: large, high resolution pictures of a late 80s/early 90s 6.2 (I looked at a 1982 yesterday, it is different) and all the wiring that goes with it, OR I need someone to physically park their 6.2 next to mine so I can use it as a visual example. I am terrible with written directions, I can really only fix something if I have a hands on example to go by. If anyone in the Southern Oregon area wants to help out with this I am more than willing to compensate you for it.

I sold my 85 Suburban w/6.2, but I have all of the wiring diagrams in my head (and I have quite a few books with diagrams, if you would like). Why do you need to re-wire? Did you have a fire?

Indeed I did have a fire (caused by me forgetting to not close the hood down on the new battery) but amazingly I did manage to rewire it myself yesterday. The job was certainly not kosher, and not professional looking at all but my goal was to simply get it running. I removed a lot of wiring that was not necessary to run the engine. Basically I made sure the ignition and glow plugs and a couple other important things were connected and not exposed, and cut out or disconnected the rest: 4WD indicator, heater controls, AM/FM and CB radio, gauges... I wanted to fix the main problem in one go so I eliminated things that were in the way or time consuming. (Yeah I know I really should hook the temp gauge back up before I make a trip) I got the glow plugs to cycle and she turned over just fine with a jump start, but since the fuel lines have so much air in them she would not start. Even with the jump start I still completely drained the battery. It would help if I used an easy out or something to open up the purge valve on the box fuel filter (it is damaged). At least I hope no fuel is the problem.

So anyway I'm pretty sure I think I got the criticals covered, but thank you for the offer of assistance. I may need to do other things later.

HEY GREASARU,
In a couple of months i will be parting out a 89 suburban 4wd with a 6.2 if you are interested in the wirring.
To help get the air out of your lines take the orifice valve out of the injector pump and crank it over till you get fuel with no air coming out of the pump. The orifice valve is on top of the pump in the front with the return line on it.
