I am helping my friend install a love craft kit and in the kit it says to hook up th elctrical pump after the liftpump.
but i figured it would be better to hook up the pump back by the tank to help that veggie oil get to the liftpump more easily. thde elec pump is after the fuel filter. At first, i installed the pump before the fuel filter and it would build up prssure and leak from the filter housing.
so my frind drove for about 50 miles and then it died out. it took along time to get all the air out and it still ran bad and with a huge loss of power. could it be the lift pump went bad from too much pressure from the elec pump?
anothr thing happened oddly was that the negativ battery cable cam off th engine block while he was driving. theres another ground wire that connects to the glow plug system that was connected to that bolt.
I also just replaced the rectangular filter on top of the engine and it kinda still weezes.
any ideas?
I am also in the process of replacing the rubber return lines on the injectors with viton. two looked lik the might be leaking.

I am not familiar with the lovecraft system, is it a 2 tank system? I am running a single tank blend on my 6.2. From experience I would say first you need a pressure gauge and a pressure regulator. I am using an electric pump at the tank, I removed my mechanical pump. I originally tried using both pumps but had some erractic behaviour so I removed the mechanical pump. Now I have an electric pump at the tank with a built in pressure regulator, it runs to a heated filter in the engine compartment. After that is my pressure gauge so I can see if I am loosing pressure indicating a clogged filter. I keep my pressure around 6 psi just before the IP and it seems to run well.
Hope this helps

the kit is not hooked up now and am having problems going up long hills.
i think i might drop the fuel tank and take a look at the sock filter.
dont really know what else to do.

Go to autozone and buy a pressure gauge and install it before the IP, if you have good pressure you can stop looking for blockage.
