Hi everyone, I'm new to the site and desperate. I converted my truck myself to a two tank system with heat exchange and pre and onboard filtration to 10 microns. I ran about 5000 miles on vegoil and actually had no problem starting and shutting off the vehicle on WVO - switched over to the diesel tank only when I ran out! Anyway I was at highway speed about 5 minutes after I left my house a couple weeks ago when the truck just stalled. I reflexively switched over to diesel and cranked and cranked and cranked. Drained the new twin batteries. Had it towed back to my house where I repeated this cycle about 15 times, confirmed diesel fuel flow with working lift pump and diesel fuel going through my clear fuel lines right up to to the hose that goes to the (mechanical) injection pump. I managed to burn out my starter thinking I just had some air in the lines - I've dealt with air before but it sounds now like the truck is getting NO fuel. A fine mist of ether/gasoline at the breather causes some hiccups but then it just goes flat again.
My question: Any ideas why my truck stalled and what I have to do to fix it? It was running 100% before, no knocks. Oil and coolant levels were fine. My fuel lift pump is ticking along and I have good flow right up to the injector pump. I suspect there is something wrong with the injector pump. How do I get to it, and how difficult is it to replace as necessary? I read somewhere that the injector pump circuit is fused - any idea where this fuse is and on what circuit?
Thanks!
PS Hindsight is 20/20 that I shouldn't have been starting my truck on cold WVO even though it started right up.
