Any reason a FPHE couldn't be plumbed into the hot line coming out of the transmission? I suspect it heats as quick or quicker than the coolant and I know it gets hotter. I suspect the flow of ATF is quite a bit higher volume than the oil. Just a thought.
This is a good idea...but how much hotter is the trans fluid? You don't want the VO to be 200-250F into some IP's...

The trans temp probably will only get >200 if you're towing something. What I don't know is how cool it gets while you're cruising down the highway with the converter locked up. I thought it wouldn't be too bad of an idea.
I have a 95 K2500 Chevy. I have a SnapOn scanner which has trans. temp listed. When engine at 190 the trans temp is about 140-150 I've never seen the temp above 190 and I was towing 12000lbs. And the trans temp doesn't rise any faster the engine temp.
